Rachel’s Textiles Studio was launched on 28th June 2014 & Rachel became a member of Genuine Jersey soon after.

When not running the shop, Rachel is usually to be found making a wide range of eclectic hand made gifts and textile art to sell, unique to the studio and not available at the moment on line or at any other store

Even if you don't sew, you can usually find a perfect ready-made present for that special occasion.

Her two favourites

  1. Creating the fashion stitched cards for birthdays & special occasions.

  2. Using the overlocker to create beautiful thick threads which are then used for further project work

Rachel creates functional items such as cushions, doorstops

& all kinds of bags, many different styles of pincushions and key rings.

She also constructs 3d soft sculptures; such as fabric sewing machines, cats, rabbits, chickens, cacti and flowers.

She produces handmade encaustic art or stitched cards

& when there is time, she is known to make some of her own clothes

She left a long-term post as head of Textiles at Jersey College for Girls in July 2014 where she had inspired many pupils from there and from Victoria College to enjoy sewing and textile art, up to A-level standard.

A former pupil at JCG herself, Rachel went on to train at Bath College of Higher Education,

graduating in 1981 with a BED in Home Economics and has continued to hone her skills ever since.
